Join us for a learning session at the UN

Sustainable development and human rights are interlinked. One cannot be achieved without the other. The Indigenous Navigator Initiative is contributing to a learning, training and practice session at the United Nations Headquarters in New York during this year’s High-Level Political Forum.

Our session focuses on the human rights-based approach to eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity.

The session will explore how human rights:

  • Make sure that no one is left behind
  • Guide SDG implementation and data collection
  • Reduce reporting burdens for states
  • Provide a framework for partnerships

This will be an opportunity to discuss with high-level representatives of governments, the UN-system, indigenous peoples, national human rights institutions, civil society, and business.

WHEN: 14 July 2017 3PM-6PM

WHERE: Conference room 6, UNHQ, New York

ORGANISERS: Danish Institute for Human Rights, Ministry of Economy (Chile), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Denmark), International Labour Organization (ILO), Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Indigenous Peoples Major Group, Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP), Forest Peoples Programme (FPP), International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA).

Supported by the European Union
